Auch wenn "God of War" stark auf die Mythologie setzt und "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" einen historischen Ansatz verfolgt, wird es beim Wikinger-Setting sicherlich einige Ähnlichkeiten und Überschneidungen geben. Cory Barlog, der Director von "God of War", hat in einer Reihe von Tweets deutlich gemacht, dass er sich sehr auf das Spiel freut und gespannt darauf ist, das Wikinger-Setting aus der Perspektive von anderen Kreativen zu sehen. "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" wird Ende 2020 für PC (Epic Games Store und Ubisoft Store), Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 sowie Google Stadia erscheinen.
