Rockstar Games muss an der PC-Version von "GTA 4" einige Anpassungen vornehmen. Im März 2020 wird die "Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition" erscheinen.
Damit "GTA 4" weiter auf digitalen PC-Plattformen angeboten werden kann, muss Rockstar Games einige Änderungen vornehmen. Das gilt ebenfalls für "Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City". Im letzten Monat wurde das Spiel plötzlich von Steam entfernt.
Ab dem 19. März 2020 wird die "Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition" sowohl "Grand Theft Auto 4" als auch "Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City" ersetzen, wo auch immer es derzeit digital verfügbar ist. Die "Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition" wird neben Steam auch über den "Rockstar Games Launcher" erhältlich sein. Die aktuellen Spielstände werden mit der "Grand Theft Auto 4: Complete Edition" kompatibel sein.
"Games for Windows Live", der Multiplayer-Modus und die Leaderboards werden in der neuen Version nicht mehr verfügbar sein. Zudem werden folgende Radiosender vorläufig nicht zu hören sein: RamJam FM, Self-Actualization FM und Vice City FM. Wer zuvor "GTA 4" oder die Zusatz-Episoden gespielt hat, wird ein kostenloses Update herunterladen müssen.
Steam Users
- Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City will be removed and replaced with GTAIV: Complete Edition in the launcher library. Update file size is expected to be approximately 22GB
- Grand Theft Auto IV owners will download content from Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City and their game will update to GTAIV: Complete Edition. Update file size is expected to be approximately 6GB
Physical Media
- Games not previously activated using Games for Windows Live will be able to use the Key on the back of the game manual to activate and update to Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition
Games for Windows Live Digital Store Purchases
- Games previously activated using Games for Windows Live will require players to create and/or link their Social Club accounts in replacement of Games for Windows Live to update to Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition
